Great food, entertainment, and a wide variety of vendors make the Brunswick Annual Pecan Festival a must attend event this fall. In 1980, motel owner, Chet Blackington, had a vision to host “Riverside Days” at the his restaurant and motel located on the Grand River. Event planners deemed the event a success and voted to move the event to downtown Brunswick the next year. Because of the region’s prolific pecan production, it was decided to change the event’s name to the “Pecan Festival.” Over time, the festival grew from a one-day event to a three-day event filled with contests, entertainment, flea-market, great foods, and two parades.
Don’t miss this year’s 30th Annual Pecan Festival in downtown Brunswick, Missouri, October 5-7, 2012.
