Not a fisherman, visit Brunswick that weekend to see the boats and some HUGE catfish. While you are in town, leave plenty of time to visit the unique shops and enjoy some fabulous dining in downtown Brunswick.

Arabia Steamboat Museum Presentation Huge Success

Wednesday, May 28th, 2014

I had the wonderful opportunity to attend the Arabia Steamboat Museum presentation Friday night. Owner, David Hawley, told the fascinating story of their family’s discovery, excavation, and recovery of many items of the lost steamboat. I highly recommend visiting their museum located in Kansas City.

An additional highlight of the evening was seeing the renovation progress of the future home of the Brunswick Area Heritage Museum located in the space above City Hall. The restored tin ceiling is beautiful. This space will be the perfect home for the many artifacts that tell the story of the Brunswick Area.

Donations are being accepted to make the museum handicap accessible. Contact Lynn Leimkuehler to find out how you can support this exciting project to preserve our wonderful heritage.
