Darold Knowles Inducted into the Missouri Sports Hall of Fame

Did you know . . . Eight people and one team will be inducted into the Missouri Sports Hall of Fame Wednesday, Dec 5 at Kirksville. One of them will be Brunswick’s own, Darold Knowles. Knowles, who had a successful 16-year major league career, is mostly remembered for the 1972, 1973, and 1974 Oakland Athletics who won back to back to back World Series Championships. In 1973, Darold set a major league record appearing in all seven games as relief pitcher for the Athletics against the NY Mets. This record has never been tied or broken.
Congratulations, Darold!
